1:13 pm January 1, 201714861HOW TO

once is not custom, I propose today the Wondershare Dr.Fone test , small software recover data lost or deleted on my mobile or Android Tablet . How does it work? Already, contrary to what you might think, this software installs on the PC and not on the phone. You install the software (Windows and Mac OS) on your PC, you connect your phone to the PC via a USB cable, then you run the restore your data from the PC. Sounds simple right? But what is really? Is this software really works? That’s what we’ll see! 🙂

(merci pour le coup de pince)

Wondershare Dr.Fone is actually a suite of 3 software: “Data restore Android”, ‘Restoring data to a defective Android’ and ‘removal of the Android lock screen. In this article, it’s Android data restoration software that I will test. As its name suggests, it will allow us to restore all the deleted data from the memory internal and also of the microSD card our precious Mobile Android: contacts, messages (SMS, MMS and WhatsApp), historic appeal, photos, videos, music and documents. From this point of view, Dr.Fone “Data restore Android” is complete.

at first glance, the software is not given. It will take to carry out the sum of €49.99 to use it! You get a license that allows you to install the software on an and a single PC and allows you to restore data 5 mobile maximally . Your data have no price and publishers have understood. That wouldn’t do – your step to recover those photos you care so much? : p

make a small tour on the side of the competitors:

Application price
Wondershare Dr.Fone €49.99
Android Recovery €49.99
Fonepaw Android data recovery €49.95
Tenorshare Android Data Recovery €35
iPubsoft Android Data Recovery €42.99

we can see publishers application to retrieve data from an Android device are all the same price. Dr.Fone does not charge, even if the first first, the Bill seems to salt.

Let’s see what this software for in the stomach. Is it really capable of restore data lost or deleted our Android mobile?

step 1: installation of the software and the license

after buying Dr.Fone “Data restore Android” , you will receive an e-mail containing a link to download the software along with your activation key. Download the executable of the software then run installation of Dr.Fone .

confirmation e-mail from Wondershare Dr.Fone

Dr.Fone Setup opens. Click on the button ‘Customize installation’ at the bottom right.

uncheck the box “Accept to participate in the customer experience improvement program”, check that concerning the license agreement, then click on the button “install”. I don’t know what is this program to improve the experience of customers but in doubt, I let fly.

wait for the installation to complete and then click on the button “Finish”.

Dr.Fone should open automatically. If not, double-click the shortcut on your desktop. A registration window will appear. If you have not yet purchased the software, check the box ‘Dr.Fone – data restore Android’ then click on ‘buy ‘. If you have already purchased the software, just click on the button ‘register ‘. For my part, as I already have an activation key, I click on ‘register ‘.

enter your e-mail address and the activation key (which was sent to you by mail) to validate your license and take full advantage of the software. If you do not enable the software, it can only scan your phone Android to the search for deleted or lost data . He will not be able to restore them.

the ‘My account’ window opens and displays the license status. In the screenshot below, we see that I have a valid lifetime for the Dr.Fone software license “restoration / Android data retrieval” (this is the same software), for 5 devices.

the software and our activation key installed, we have more than to get into the restoration of data from our device Android !

step 2: restoring data

I found the very practice Dr.Fone and very simple to use for recover the data of its Android phone . The interface is clear and intuitive. In the left column, you have the choice between several options:

  • data restore Android
  • recover data from a SD card on Android
  • to restore data from an Android defective
  • additional tools (contains only the option “Removal of the Android lock screen”)

these last two options are not included in the license ‘Android data restore ‘. Only the first two options are available.

as part of the test, this is the “Data restore Android” option we are interested 🙂 option in the left column click on connect your phone to the PC via a USB cable.

Dr.Fone installs the necessary driver for the scan and restoration of the data of our device Android . Your device will probably restart, that’s what happened with my smartphone.

once the driver is installed, select the file type you want to recover between: contacts, messaging, call history, messages and attachments to WhatsApp, photos, music, videos and documents. You can leave all check.

then select mode of analysis :

  • ‘Scanning deleted files’: scans only the data that you have removed from your Android phone . The scan will be significantly shorter than the mode “scan all files”.
  • “Scan all files”: scans all data from your Android phone. This mode of analysis is much longer, allow several hours!

you must now give Admin rights to Dr.Fone so they can scan and recover data from your Android phone . The wizard is rather well done: it shows you how to give rights ‘root’ to the application on the phone from screenshots.

scan your phone Android finally begins! In mode “Scanning deleted files”, the analysis is pretty fast.

then it is a breeze to recover data that interest us. Just check the elements that we souhaite restore by clicking the check box in front of each of them. With the SMS example:

to the Gallery, the application will find a lot of temporary files that have nothing to do with the photos you probably want to recover. For example, the temporary files are pictures of items from web sites you’ve viewed, thumbnails of YouTube videos, etc. In the screenshot below, not less than 21 484 images were found! Not easy to navigate and of retrieve only the photos .

the trick is to select a another display mode . Click the ‘Détails’ icon and then on the “Size” tab at the top right Your images will then be classified by size , the heaviest to the lighter. The heaviest images will probably match your photos . You can return to “Thumbnails” view by clicking on the icon at the top right, the images will be sorted.

once you have selected the items you want to restore , click ‘Recover’ in the bottom right.

select the location for the backup of your data.

all data are copied and listed in specific folders (Gallery, e-mail…). It is a small disappointment, especially for messages: are no restored the PC and not on the phone : /

you can see them but only on your PC. It’s better than nothing, but I find it unfortunate that there is no option for restore messages directly on the phone .

verdict of Dr.Fone “Android data recovery”

Wondershare Dr.Fone “Android data recovery”
Version tested: Windows, v6.1.0
test device: Xiaomi MI2S, 5.0, MIUI 6.5.26 Android

+ positives

  • well restores the data erased or lost Android device
  • clear Interface and intuitive
  • Data Types to restore complete: WhatsApp messages, call log, SMS…
  • compatible Windows and Mac OS X
  • mode quick scan “scan deleted files”
  • number of devices supported

  • Installation force to “MobileGo” on the Android device
  • does not restore data (messages, pictures…) directly on the phone
  • price : the software is not within the reach of everyone (even if it is in the average of the prices charged by its competitors)

Dr.Fone does the job: it effectively restores your data lost or deleted on your device Android (mobile or Tablet). It for a clear and intuitive interface that allows anyone to carry out these recovery operations. The biggest problem of the software is that it does not directly restore its data on their Android device. Maybe in a future release?
