OVH takes this new year 2017 to launch a new offer of storage mode Cloud , called Cloud Archive, and which comes compete directly with Amazon Glacier and Google Nearline Storage.

Based on a solution open source, OpenStack, offers rates very attractive and significantly lower than those proposed by the American giants. This does not prevent your data to be replicated to multiple data centers with a constant verification of their integrity.

Cloud Archive, send and receive

to send data on the Cloud Archive, OVH for the support of many standard and especially secure protocols, such as SFTP, SCP, Rsync as well as HTTPS. Note also the OpenStack Swift support allowing to synchronize, for example, a Synology NAS on Cloud Archive.

To recover your data, may take a few minutes to a few hours, which is not a problem for archiving said cold data storage. For the duration of storage itself, there is no retention, your data may remain on the Cloud as long as hard your subscription.
