a design out for HTC U Play and Ultra
the Taiwanese brand wanted to mark a break with my old design. Goodbye aluminum, Hello the glass. HTC offers varied colours, with rounded corners and a shell very brilliant which reflects the light, but also marks many fingerprints.
For got it in hand, we can tell you that the build quality is at the rendezvous. We always find the capacitive touch button which houses the extremely fast fingerprint reader, and the touch keys on each side.
the HTC U Play camera’s 16 Megapixel, U Ultra is 12 megapixels, but with UltraPixel 2 technology for better pictures in low light. Big brother also won a laser autofocus sensor. Hope in pictures, two new born brand do at least as well the HTC 10.
An additional screen for HTC U Utra
as you can see on the official pictures of HTC U Play and U Ultra, the phablette for a second 2 inch screen, as we could see it at LG some time ago. HTC says stand out with more intelligent features that only display important information through integration of artificial intelligence.
artificial intelligence at all levels
to stand out from the competition by following the trend of artificial intelligence, the brand is having worked on a very personalized integration of AI in order “to anticipate the needs of the user”. We speak so here of machine learning, or learning by machine how you use the product.
As say you immediately, we had examples and statements, without being able to test them for us, for lack of time spent with the product and because of an unofficial software release.
for example, HTC evokes these examples: alerts to recharge your phone before the critical phase based on the time and your use, suggestions to change the time of your Awakening based on your calendar, or even suggest some restaurants according to your tastes. Artificial intelligence will take place at all levels, both to manage the storage as memory or applications.
The manufacturer wants to avoid overwhelm the user notifications by making them less frequent, but more intelligent, as well on the HTC U Play than the Ultra U.
The audio quality always appointments
another major change, the disappearance of the Jack. Everything will now be via USB Type-C. The headphones are always certified “High Res 24-bit” (provided in the box). HTC argues that it avoids the conversion from analog to digital as was the case before, and of course to produce thinner phones.
USonic technology enhances already existing functionality on the HTC 10, audio profile customization. So far, the customization was listening to a series of sound. Now, this is done automatically with a “sonar” technology that customizes everything based on your ears. Having checked the sound with and without customization, are indeed a positive difference.
The stereo speakers are based on the same principle as the excellent HTC 10, namely management of acute upper and low with the speaker on the bottom. On the Ultra model, these are 4 microphones which are integrated to a 3D audio, allowing you to play the videos captured by taking advantage of the spatialization of sound.
Little information about the new HTC Sense
If you don’t see any pictures of the interface, it is that HTC did not wish to present it to the public. The copies we tested had an unofficial software release. What we can tell you, is that very few applications will be installed by default, and that what you like on HTC Sense should be kept.
Like on the HTC 10, applications of the brand won’t overlap with those of Google. We have just tested the new audio calibration function which, she also will be asked to change visually. HTC U Play out under Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with a Nougat update later, and U Play Ultra released it directly under 7.0 Nougat.
Must we forget the HTC 11?
Seeing the new design and the very high price of the HTC U Ultra high-end, we legitimately asked if it is the new flagship of the brand for 2017, and successor of the HTC 10. The brand of course declined to directly answer this question, while specifying that the Ultra U is a high-end… of the phablette segment.
Out of speech official, and this is only my opinion, there is still a good chance as a “HTC 11” or whatever that is my name out around the MWC 2017 with more compact than the Ultra version and the higher specifications with for example a Snapdragon 835. Take bets and put away the crystal ball.
We’re quits with the getting started video in which Reda, Product Manager at HTC, presents the new range of U. And you think what these new HTC?
