Armbian (Orange feet): install an XFCE desktop delivery server [Exclusive Guide]
in the previous tutorial, we saw how to prepare a light system Armbian for an Orange Pi. For this, we were left the server version which for no graphical desktop. That’s enough for projects of connected objects, perform a surveillance IP camera… In this tutorial, we will see how to upgrade a server version installed in the previous tutorial to add the XFCE graphical desktop (light also).
for this tutorial, I used an Orange Pi Lite (WiFi version) with a 8 GB SD card but this tutorial applies to any Linux environment.

and then we start the installation of the XFCE desktop and dependencies
sudo apt – get – y install xorg lightdm xfce4 tango – icon – theme gnome – icon – theme
restart (sudo reboot) or manually start the office with the command startxfce4 .
after the launch you get directly to a connection window. Sign in as usual. Now you have a graphical desktop on your Orange Pi. This is the same office that is used for the Desktop version of the distribution Armbian . She is simply installed in its default configuration with the minimum of pre-installed software (mail, browser Client).
